Mr. Cody Farnworth - Assistant Principal

Mr. Farnworth

This will begin Mr. Farnworth’s 19th year in education and his second as the Vice-Principal at E.W. Fritsch elementary School.  Prior to his VP position, Mr. Farnworth spent time as a Science Implementation Specialist for Carson High School where he supported and organized the efforts of the 15 high school science teachers’ curriculum and assessment work from 2014-2015. Together they unpacked the new Nevada Academic State Standards for Science, identified learning targets, and created benchmark assessments to measure student mastery of those targets with Mastery Connect.

Prior to his position as an Implementation Specialist, Cody was an educator and coach for 16 years at the high school level teaching a variety of science subjects including Honors Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Discovery Science and Zoology.

As a student-athlete (RMAC baseball), Cody earned his bachelor’s degree from Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University). He earned his master’s degree from the University of Phoenix and is currently working on his doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Along with our principal, Mr. Brown, Mr. Farnworth is committed to the continuation of meeting the academic needs of our students, and he believes that teamwork, setting high expectations and having open communication between staff and parents are important attributes that ensure a productive learning environment.

In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. Cody and his wife, a Nurse Practitioner, enjoy spending time as a family and are involved in a variety of activities and appreciate watching their son and daughter compete in their respective extra-curricular activities.  Their son participates in bow hunting and is a competitive trap shooter and their daughter is a pitcher/first baseman for her competitive softball team and plays for the middle school basketball team.

Mr. Farnworth enjoys being a Bulldog, and supporting the students, teachers, parents and community at Fritsch Elementary School. He is excited to work with all stakeholders to fulfill the mission “to create a safe environment where children can develop into responsible, caring, life-long learners who will grow up to be contributing members of society.”
