Mission Statement

Our mission is to continue a tradition of academic excellence in partnership with the community where students are challenged and supported to develop into responsible, caring, life-long learners in a safe environment.

We are rounding the mid-year point of the school year and it has been fantastic so far. We are hoping for a wet, snowy winter! With that in mind, please be sure to send students to school dressed for these conditions. If students are going to play on the fields in the snow, we ask them to wear waterproof shoes (boots) so they can stay comfortable the remainder of the day. If they are not prepared, we ask them to stay on the asphalt portion of the playground so they can remain dry. If your child is in need of winter clothing let us know and we will help locate some resources.  If you are missing any items, please take a look in our lost and found. We have a mound of jackets, hoodies, lunch bags and other items.  During the winter break, these items will be donated to FISH, so please come and claim any items that are familiar to you.

Speaking of a cold and snowy winter, if for any reason we need to have a delayed start to school, the start time will be at 10:25 AM.  On these days, breakfast will not be served. If a delayed start to school is declared, please watch for notifications on local news programs, radio stations, the Carson City School district website, or our Fritsch Facebook page and website.

During the month of December, all of our students will be taking the winter MAP Assessment. It is very important for our students to do their best and to take their time. This assessment is used to identify students that may need a Literacy Plan developed to support deficiencies in reading.  Please remind your child to do their best and celebrate what they are learning.

We have an awesome evening planned for Dec. 13th. We will begin the evening with a band/choir concert at 5:30pm. We will also have reading activities for the whole family. The Book Fair will be going from 5:30-7:00. We will wrap up the night with a good holiday book and cookies and hot cocoa provided by our PTA. We encourage you to come in your PJs and have a festive evening.

You know, our PTA does so many things for our school, a great way to thank them, is to become a member! The price for a membership is one trip to Starbucks, so please sign up and give them your support. You can pay for your membership in the office.

Finally, we want to wish you a wonderful and peaceful holiday season.  We look forward to the continuation of an amazing school year in 2018!

Happy Holidays,

Mr. Brown and Mr. Farnworth

School Safety Information

Dear Fritsch Parents,

The well-being of your child is very important to us, so every year, we re-evaluate our Fritsch safety plan and look at ways we can improve the security of our buildings.  An area of concern for us is when we have visitors on campus and do not always know their whereabouts.  As a way to manage our campus visitors, we will now require any visitors to remain in the office while your child is called from their classroom. If you are a classroom volunteer, you must complete a volunteer application along with being fingerprinted with the school district.  We will ask our staff members to notify the office when they have a volunteer coming to work in the classroom.  We understand this might be an inconvenience for you and in no way are we trying to take you away from the wonderful educational experience your child is having at Fritsch. Our mission is to keep your child safe and that is our number one goal.

We appreciate your understanding.

Mr. Dan Brown
